Closure of Hamsterly Beach parking lot and Governor General area for Ironman race on Sunday May 28, expect disruptions.
Ironman 70.3 Victoria is hosting a triathlon on Sunday, May 28, sunrise to sunset. Approximately 3000 participants, volunteers and spectators are expected to attend the event. Hamsterly Beach will be the staging area for the start, transitions and finish of the race. The Hamsterly Beach parking lot will be closed for the event. The Governor General area, which is the grassy field near the Elk Lake Drive park entrance, will be closed for overflow parking. The 10km Trail around the lake will be used for the run portion of the event so delays should be anticipated. Other areas of the park and facilities remain open to visitors. Park visitors may want to consider visiting a different park during this event.
