The Vicino is a mixed use commercial and residential four storey building, with 39 residential units. It was completed in 2008.
Rainwater Management Techniques
Green Roof
A 1100 metre square accessible green roof covers the building. It is accessible from the fourth floor penthouses, and is not available to the public.
150 millimetre growing medium from Stream Organics was used in the construction. The roof also features a water retention drainage layer, type iv polystyrene insulation and a torch-on roofing system. Plants were selected for drought resistance. The roof was created to facilitate better stormwater management and to increase the value of the building.
