The Meadows is a residential development of 59 single family houses, 20 townhouses and an apartment building, built in 2008.
Rainwater Management Techniques
Bioswales/Rain Gardens
Phase I: 13 vegetated bio-retention cells with orifice controlled under drains were installed. The cells are 1 metre deep, filled with modified soils to promote good root growth of plants. The bioswales currently cover a 1444 metres square area.
Phase II of the development will see a larger raingarden system and enlargement of the Phase I pond.
Permeable Pavement
Unit pavers were used for all surface parking. Narrow roadways and short driveways also reduce impervious surface cover.
