Toilet Testing Information
Because of consumer concerns about the effectiveness of low consumption toilets, many groups in Canada and the U.S. are conducting independent testing of toilets. The following is a selection of recent test results (Please note that some U.S. models may not be available in Canada, and that some Canadian models may not be distributed locally.)
Dual Flush Toilet Information
Dual flush (3 litre/6 litre) toilets are gaining in popularity because they are 26% more efficient than 6 litre models. For more information see CMHC - Dual Flush Research Study.
Maximum Performance Testing of Popular Toilet Models
This large study of low flow toilets was headed by the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association in conjunction with many municipalities and water agencies in Canada and the US, including the Capital Regional District.
