Irrigation Rebate Program
Efficient Irrigation Systems
Rebates apply to the following irrigation equipment:
- Automatic rain shut-off devices or Rain Sensors
- Irrigation Controllers with a 365-day calendar
Landscape irrigation can use large amounts of water. Properly installed and maintained in-ground irrigation systems can conserve water if irrigation is done efficiently. To assist homeowners and businesses to make the most efficient use of in-ground irrigation systems CRD Water Services invites you to take advantage of their rebate offer for an irrigation controller and/or a rain shut-off device.
Qualification Criteria
- The rebate applies to all residential, commercial or institutional installations.
- Registered owners of the property are eligible to apply for the rebate.
- Rebates apply to automatic rain shut-off devices and irrigation controllers with a 365-day calendar. The irrigation controller must be hard-wired and permanently installed.
- All equipment must be CSA approved.
- Only installations commenced after January 1, 2007 are eligible.
- Properties must be connected to municipal water supply serving Greater Victoria, Sooke, and designated portions of the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area. Properties on private wells are not eligible.
Documentation
To obtain the rebate, the following documentation must be forwarded
to the Capital Regional District Water Services at 479 Island Highway,

Tel: 250.474.9684 Fax: 250.474.4012. Applications must be submitted and received in our office no later than December 31, 2009, to be eligible for the rebate.

Form (PDF
) - Copy of receipts confirming the purchase and installation of equipment, or
- Copy of service contract with irrigation firm showing installation of equipment.
Verification
The Capital Regional District Water Services reserves the right to inspect all installations.

- Automatic rain shutoff devices or Rain Sensors $25 rebate
- Irrigation Controllers with a 365-day calendar $50 rebate
