January 2010 Update on Residential Rebate Programs
The rebates ended December 31, 2009.
But the savings go on forever.
Over the past fifteen years the CRD has introduced residential water conservation rebates to encourage the purchase of appliances and fixtures that use innovative water-saving technology.
These days, the use of such fixtures and appliances has become standard. Provincial codes now require all new toilet installations to use 4.8 litres of water or less per flush and most appliance stores now feature high efficiency washing machines. Clearly, incentives are no longer necessary and the residential rebate programs for irrigation systems, low-flow toilets and high efficiency washing machines came to an end effective December 31, 2009.
ICI Rebates
Rebates are available to the ICI sectors for eliminating once-through cooling systems that waste large volumes of clean municipal water.
