Pilot Projects
Pilot Projects provide the CRD with the opportunity to test public interest and willingness to participate in new ideas in recycling and waste management. Pilots are an ideal way to gather information, try out new methods and routines and find out what works and what doesn't in particular regions, climates and populations. Projects vary widely; often they grow into successful campaigns or services, such as wood waste recycling at Hartland. Pilot projects in the Solid Waste Division currently include the expanded plastics collection at Hartland Recycling.
