The following materials are strictly prohibited from landfill disposal at Hartland:

at Hartland.
- aggregate
- asphalt (road material banned, shingles accepted as garbage)
- biomedical waste
- clean soil
- concrete
- corrugated cardboard

- directories

- drywall (in loads weighing more than 100 kg)
under 1,000 kg - hazardous wastes (including empty containers) Read more

- lead acid batteries

- liquids (except by permit) Read more

- mixed paper (paper fibres)

- motor vehicle bodies and farm implements
- newspapers

- PCBs
- propane tanks

- radioactive wastes
- reactive wastes
- rubble
- scrap metal

- sharps (except by permit) Read more

- special waste, excluding waste asbestos
- tires

- used oil filters

- waste that is on fire or smoldering
- white goods (large appliances)
