Hazardous Waste Transport – ASBESTOS
Asbestos is hazardous waste as per the BC Hazardous Waste Regulation if the material contains asbestos fibres or dust at a concentration greater than 1% by weight.
Any quantity under 1,000 kg can be transported by the generator (e.g. home-owner) without a transport license. If it is transported by someone other than the generator, quantities of 5 kg or more must be hauled by a licensed transporter and be accompanied by manifest.
