How is the Recreation Centre Operated?

SEAPARC administers the Recreation Centre for the Town of Sooke and the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area. The Commission is responsible for the operation of the recreation service and recommends an operating policy and fees to the CRD Board, which makes the recommendations into bylaws. The commission must submit an annual budget to the CRD in October of each year. An administrator and staff are employed to run the recreation centre.

Can I attend SEAPARC if I'm not a resident of these areas?

Yes. SEAPARC is open to all members of the public; costs are the same for residents of all areas.

What are the fees and admission rates for SEAPARC?

Drop in and extended visit rates are explained on our Fees & Admission Rates page. Prices drop significantly when you purchase 10 or more visits at a time, or purchase a monthly pass. Families can also enjoy SEAPARC for only $9—a great way to spend quality time together.

How is SEAPARC Funded?

SEAPARC is funded by a property value tax, user fees, donations, grants and cost sharing.

Are there programs offered at facilities other than SEAPARC?

Yes, many! SEAPARC holds classes and works cooperatively at nine community centres and schools in the Sooke Area. Whatever you're looking for in recreation, it's likely you'll be able to find it nearby.
