Water Treatment Plant (construction started in November, 2011).

The combined Highland-Fernwood water treatment plant (WTP) was retendered in July 2011 after the original contract was terminated between the Owner and Contractor.  The new contract was awarded to Brunnell Construction Ltd in October 2011 in the amount of $1,347,304. The project includes a new water treatment process that can address the range of conditions experienced by St. Mary Lake including frequently occurring algal blooms. The project also combines the Highland and Fernwood treatment systems which will be located at the south end of Maycock Road.

The WTP building is nearing completion and the process equipment has been installed with commissioning of the WTP anticipated to start in May and be completed in June 2012.
