The CRD regional transportation model is an analytical tool used to measure the effects of growth and development on travel behaviour. It can show the relation between the number of trips taken and the resulting changes to land-use patterns and transportation networks.
The CRD has replaced the EMME/2 transportation model with TransCAD, a GIS-based model. The new model enables the region to evaluate future growth options and better assess the effects of infrastructure investments.
