Capital Region Profile Series

The CRD Regional Planning Division's publications cover various aspects of the Region, including its structure, physical setting, economy, infrastructure, community services and demographics. The Profile series should appeal to businesses, students, visitors and residents alike. Written in a clear, non-technical style, each publication deals with a single topic, and includes some history of the subject, present conditions including statistics and summary information, and a look into the future. Includes sources and locations of additional material.

•		Transportation (PDF ) new An overview of the role of the CRD in sustainable transportation planning and the desired outcomes of this strategic priority. Also contains travel trends, facts, and current projects. (4 pages)
•		Regional Statistics (PDF ) Key statistics for the Capital Regional District, sub-regions and electoral areas: current quick facts on population, demographics, housing, transportation and land areas. (4 pages)

•		Age Profile (PDF ) A summary of the age distribution in the Capital Regional District with comparisons to the CRD sub-regions, and to BC and other regions. (4 pages)
•		Overview (PDF ) Provides a brief overview of the Region, including its geographic and demographic features and a description of the role the CRD plays in the community. Includes a map of the Region showing its various jurisdictions. (4 pages)
•		Growth (PDF ) An outline of the Regional Growth Strategy (RGS). Included is a summary of guidelines to help manage growth over the next 25 to 30 years and the RGS's implementation and monitoring. (4 pages)
•	Historical Development (PDF ) Lists the key dates in the (mostly European) settlement of the Region; describes the factors which resulted in the present settlement pattern and illustrates the historic settlement patterns of the Region. (6 pages)
