Victoria and Esquimalt Harbours Environmental Action Program &
Harbours Ecological Inventory and Rating Project

VEHEAP logo

VEHEAP is an intergovernmental initiative working to protect and improve the environmental quality of the harbour areas.

VEHEAP is conducting the HEIR Project (Harbours Ecological Inventory and Rating), a major initiative to inventory and rate the biological and physical features of the backshore, intertidal and subtidal portions of the harbours.

As the HEIR is a complex project, it has been conducted in Phases, some of which are available here while the full website is under development:

1. Interactive, web-based mapping tool of intertidal and backshore inventory and rating information for the harbours (Phase 1)
2. Subtidal survey sections of the Harbours Ecological Inventory and Rating project (HEIR) over the internet. This includes the full reports (Acrobat PDFs) and underwater video files

Your feedback on this site is very important, particularly while we develop the final product. Any comments on the presentation of material, and usability of the site would be much appreciated. Please email them to Jody Watson, VEHEAP coordinator, here Email.
