Jordan River Regional Park Reserve

CRD Regional Parks purchased parkland in the Jordan River area with the help of The Land Conservancy of BC in 2010.These lands, known as Jordan River Regional Park Reserve, include Sandcut Beach, a longtime favourite beach for CRD residents. Further lands in the Jordan River area will be transferred to the CRD over the next two years.
Features
A short walk through forest, along a trail, boardwalk and down stairs leads to Sandcut Beach, a long cobble shore along the Juan de Fuca Strait. Sandcut Beach is currently held as park reserve with no facilities.

How to Get to Sandcut Beach
Follow the Trans-Canada Highway from Victoria to the Sooke exit. Follow Highway 14 (Juan De Fuca Hwy / West Coast Rd) past the town site of Jordan River, approximately 55 km. The Sandcut Beach parking area is 4 km from the Jordan River town site. Allow approximately 1.5 hours driving time from Victoria.
Status of Jordan River Lands
The park reserve includes 3.5km of shoreline between Jordan River and Sandcut Beach noted for its high conservation and recreation values. Two parcels of land, including Sandcut Beach, were transferred in 2010 and 2011. CRD Regional Parks has since made improvements to the trail and parking lot. Lands just east of Jordan River will transfer to the CRD in 2012. A park management planning process will start in 2013. In the interim, Regional Parks will secure the site and work with stakeholders to address use of the land and buildings before completion of the management plan.
