Upgrades to Mt. Work at Munn Rd.

Munn Road Parking EntranceCRD Regional Parks is making improvements to the south entrance to Mount Work Regional Park at Munn Road.

This project will provide park visitors and area residents with a safer, more welcoming and versatile entrance.

The existing entrance to the park has:

  • A very small parking area
  • Minimal park visitor information
  • No toilet facilities

New Features

The site development plan incorporates input from the District of Highlands Council, staff and residents.

Key components of the project include:

  • Improved park entrance ~30m east of existing location
  • 11 parking spaces
  • 4.2m width one lane driveway
  • Information kiosk and signs
  • Universally accessible toilet building
  • Accessible Trail Loop

Planning components

  • Property survey
  • Detailed site development landscape plan and other site assessments
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Development and other permits

Accessible Trail Loop

CRD Regional Parks will be reviewing an accessible loop
trail to be part of future trail development in this section of the park. No decisions have been made yet about the route the connector trail will take from the new parking entrance. First, staff will conduct a needs assessment. That planning process will include input from the District of Highlands, people with physical disabilities and the local area residents. In the mean time, park visitors are asked to stay on the CRD established trails.
