First Night New Year's Eve Family Celebration
Panorama Christmas Mixed Doubles Tournament
December 9-11, 2012 saw Panorama play host to its 12th Annual Xmas Mixed Doubles Triple Knockout Tennis tournament. Sixteen teams played 32 matches over the weekend.
For A division final, Jennifer and Jared Martin defeated Tracy Frank and Carmine Antonacci, while Amanda Heffelfinger and Steve Perks were victorious in B Division winning in three sets over Min Pak and Ian Baxter.
Next tennis events to be played at Panorama will be:
- For Juniors: Volkl Junior Series U16 event #3 - January 20 -22, 2012
- For Adults : Valentines Mixed Doubles event - February 17-19, 2012.
Cops for Cancer/Tour De Rock Spin Challenge
Calling all cars! There was an APB out for uniformed individuals seeking the ultimate challenge of being Spin Bike Champions. Sidney RCMP and Central Saanich Police Departments broke all kinds of spin bike regulations at the Panorama Recreation Centre's’ “Fittest Force” Challenge on September 28th! All proceeds for this event will be directed to the annual “Cops for Cancer” fundraising drive. Read more

Eric Sherwood Trail Dedication Ceremony
The Peninsula Recreation Commission is proud to announce that the 1km fitness trail around Panorama will be named the Eric Sherwood Trail in honour of the vital role Mr. Sherwood played as a founding member of the Recreation Commission in 1977. Mr. Sherwood was a driving force for the creation of the Panorama Recreation Centre. Join us on Monday, October 31st @ 1pm for the dedication ceremony at the south parking lot entrance to Panorama Recreation on Forest Park Drive.
Celebrate Slider's Birthday

The Big Burn Fundraiser
The‘Big Burn’ was a great success with lots of pink shiny faces and pools of sweat on the spin room floor. There was a full turnout and some eager spares ready to relieve their tired comrades if need be. Over $1000 was raised for Muscular Dystrophy Canada by all 3 local fire departments with Sidney Fire Department being the top fundraiser. Congratulations! Read more

September 2010 – Planned Power Outage
A planned power outage is being conducted in order to connect the main hydro to the mini plant for the SPWWTP heat recovery project. The outage is planned for Wednesday, September 8th from 1–3pm. As a result the centre will be closed. Thank you for your understanding.
June 2010 – Peninsula Recreation Commission’s Strategic Plan 2010-2014
The Peninsula Recreation Commission is embarking on the strategic plan for 2010 through 2014. The final report was presented by Professional Environmental Recreation Consultants (PERC) to the Peninsula Recreation Commission in June.

May 2010 - Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)
Program Registrations, Pass Sales, Facility Rental, etc. Between May 1 and June 30, 2010
- The implementation of the HST as prescribed by the Province of BC requires collection of HST starting May 1, 2010 on any product or service or portion thereof delivered on or after July 1, 2010.
- Any additional taxes payable, due to HST implementation, during the transition period of May 1 through June 30 will be charged to customers accounts July 1 and will then be due and payable
- Programs for children 14 years and under will be exempt from HST

Congratulations to Aftermath, who took home Battle of the Bands' first prize on Saturday May 8th. Second place went to Headhunters, and Caution Tape Girl came in at third place. Panorama Recreation and TC-Helicon present Battle of the Bands 2010, Saturday May 8th 7-10pm. This event showcases live performances by young musicians ranging in age from 11-18yrs; it promises to be an exciting and fun time for all. $5 tickets up until May 7th , $7 at the door. Read more

The Peninsula Recreation Commission and the Capital Regional District opened the magnificent new aquatic complex at Panorama Recreation Centre (PRC) on Saturday morning, October 24th, in North Saanich. Read more
October 24, 2009 – Panorama Mascot
Panorama Recreation introduced the new mascot at the Aquatic Complex Grand Opening event on October 24, 2009. Slide was warmly welcomed by many of Panorama's patron. He looks forward to his role of promoting health and wellness to the Saanich Peninsula.
