CRD Sewers
Port Renfrew Sewer is the only CRD sewer in the Juan de Fuca EA.
Port Renfrew Sewer
This service provides sewage collection and disposal facilities for about 79 lots in the Port Renfrew area.
Liquid waste from the system treatment plant is discharged by outfall into the sea; semi-solid waste sludge from the plant is then trucked to the Septic Processing Plant in Langford for further treatment.
This service is managed and operated by the CRD Integrated Water Services Department, in partnership with the Port Renfrew Utility Services Committee. The committee establishes policies for the operation of the service and recommends to the CRD Board user fees, tax levels and other charges for the service.
Septic Systems
The majority of Juan de Fuca residences are on private septic systems. When properly maintained, these systems are an environmentally friendly and economically sound treatment method. Knowledge and regular maintenance of your septic system is essential.
The CRD provides information, workshops, online instructional maintenance videos, and other valuable resources to assist you in caring for your septic system.
