Emergency Programs
Juan de Fuca Electoral Area Emergency Management Commission

The Emergency Program service provides planning and management of an emergency response plan for the JDF area. It was created in response to the Emergency Program Act.
Commission Activities
- prepares the local emergency plan
- reviews emergency preparedness, operations, resources and capabilities to ensure adequacy
- determines the need for response exercises and training programs
- coordinates liaisons with other area response agencies and directs the Emergency Coordinator
CRD Administrative Relationship
The Electoral Area Director for the Juan de Fuca is member of the commission.

Minutes & Meeting Schedule
Emergency Planning meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month except August, at 7:00 pm at the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area Office, #2 - 6868 West Coast Road, Sooke.
EOC Training meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month except August, at the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area Office, #2 - 6868 West Coast Road, Sooke.
Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue Committee
The committee manages a land search and rescue service for the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area. The committee and the service were started in 2003.
Committee Activities
- manages search and rescue for the entire area
- appoints a Search Director to be Chief of Operations
- coordinates liaisons with other area response agencies and SAR teams as needed
CRD Administrative Relationship
The Electoral Area Director is a member of the committee.
