Galiano Island Parks & Recreation Commission
Overview

The Galiano Island Parks and Recreation Commission (GIPRC) was established in 1995 as a committee of the CRD to develop, maintain and operate community parks on Galiano Island and to organize and conduct recreation programs for the community. As part of its activities, the Commission also develops and maintains a network of trails on public rights of way, including improved trails to popular shore accesses.
The Commission consists of eight local volunteer Commissioners, appointed by the CRD, and the CRD Director for the Southern Gulf Islands. Commissioners serve two-year terms, beginning in January of the first year.
