Does your business use a pre-rinse spray valve?

Your Food Service Establishment may be eligible to receive a free installation of pre-rinse spray valves and high efficiency faucet aerators and a complimentary Water, Energy, and Waste Reduction Opportunities Assessment to help you identify further opportunities for savings.

Who is eligible?

Food service establishments, including restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, catering facilities, cafeterias, community centres, retirement/care homes and other establishments with kitchen facilities.

Your business must:

  • use natural gas for water heating.
  • be located in the capital region.
  • have an existing pre-rinse spray valve that can be replaced.
    • The existing spray valve must have a flow rate higher than 1.15 gallons per minute.
    • The pipes and hoses must be well maintained and not pose a risk of failure during the upgrade.
    • If the installation cannot be done safely and reliably, it will not be completed.
  • have an owner or manager available to meet with the installer/assessor during a pre-appointed time slot for the installation and Water, Energy and Waste Reduction Opportunities Assessment.

How do I register?

The program will be offered until March 31, 2017 on a first-come, first-served basis and is delivered by City Green Solutions, a local non-profit organization.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that FortisBC and the Capital Regional District are not the designers, manufacturers, or installers of the products or equipment installed under the Pre-Rinse Spray Valve Program (the “Program”) and that FortisBC and the Capital Regional District make no representation or warranty, express or implied, concerning such products or equipment or their installation or any potential cost savings therefrom.
  2. The Participant releases from liability and agrees not to sue FortisBC, the Capital Regional District, or any of their affiliates or any of their respective officers, directors, or employees for any loss or damage that the Participant may suffer as a result of the installation or use of any products or equipment installed under the Program.
  3. The Participant irrevocably assigns, transfers, and conveys to the Capital Regional District, appoints the Capital Regional District as the owner or recipient of, and authorize the Capital Regional District to assume and receive or designate on the Participants behalf any and all Environmental Attributes and any rights to receive Environmental Attributes which result from or are related to, in whole or in part, the Work. Further, this signed form certifies that the Environmental Attributes are the property of the CRD or a CRD identified designate and have not been assigned to another party.
  4. The Participant consents to the disclosure of the information provided on this form to FortisBC and the Capital Regional District and its designates for the purposes of administering the Program, evaluating the effectiveness of the Program, and undertaking analysis and research to inform changes to existing programs and the design of new energy efficiency programs.
  5. Personal information contained on this form is collected under the authority of the Local Government Act and is subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The personal information will be used for purposes associated with the Program.   6. The Participant consents to the installer contacting the Participant by phone, email, direct mail, or similar method for the purposes of administering, evaluating, and researching all elements of the Program.
