Final Occupancy Requirements
Certificate of Occupancy
A Certificate of Occupancy must be obtained prior to final occupancy, and is automatically issued if all required inspections have been carried out and the building or structure is deemed substantially complete and fit for occupancy.
The Building Inspection division will not issue a Certificate of Occupancy if deficiencies are recorded in the structure by other inspection authorities.
Conditional Certificate of Occupancy
Under certain circumstances, a Conditional Certificate of Occupancy may be issued for partial or emergency occupancy approval. Contact your building inspector for details.
