      <description>Under the direction of the Manager of Local Area Planning, the Planning Assistant is responsible for a variety of planning related tasks and is the first-responder to related public inquires. The Planning Assistant assists the Manager of Local Area Planning and other staff with development related inquiries including application intake and process tracking, analyzing professional reports, maps and building plans, policy interpretation and preparation of reports. Working in a small team environment with a time sensitive workload, the Planning Assistant requires good organizational skills.</description>

      <title>Manager, Salt Spring Island Parks &amp; Recreation</title>
      <description>The Manager, SSI Parks and Recreation provides leadership and support in the development, and
administration of recreation services for SSI Parks and Recreation. Reporting to the Senior Manager,

the SSI Parks and Recreation service, in accordance with the regulations, policies, practices and
direction of the CRD and its Commission, and for providing leadership, strategic direction and support on

establishing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with the community and agencies, this
position is responsible for managing multiple projects of SSI PARC, the workforce, and to be involved in

      <title>Manager, Engineering - Salt Spring Island</title>
      <description>Reporting to the Senior Manager SSI Administration, the Manager, Engineering - SSI provides
leadership, direction and professional expertise specific to SSI services, projects and initiatives, which
include water, wastewater, and transportation initiatives. This position is responsible for local services
utility and transportation initiatives on SSI through internal contract arrangements with other CRD service
functions (eg. Water Management and Infrastructure Engineering, Environmental Engineering), external
contracts, and outside agencies such as the Ministry of Transportation. This position is responsible for
project management, engineering, planning, design and construction functions to ensure the timely and
cost effective completion of projects, and for ensuring that projects are managed and coordinated to
achieve effective project outcomes, consistent communication and information to stakeholders, and
compliance with applicable bylaws, legislation and CRD policies and procedures.</description>

responsible for ensuring all participants are safe during waterfront activities. This position has direct responsibility

swim conditions. As well, the Daycamp Lifeguard will be required to provide assistance to Daycamp Program
Leaders with participant supervision, behavior management, and activity and game ideas development.</description>
